Another pretty card using the Garden in Bloom stamp set. I combined this set with the Hardwood Background stamp for a shabby chic look. This card uses a technique called “STAMPING OFF” - allowing you to use one color of ink to get two very different looks. See the directions below to see how easy it is to use this technique.
Here is a list of ingredients:
Stamps: Garden in Bloom; Hardwood Background
Ink: Soft Suede; Pink Pirouette; So Saffron; Pear Pizzazz
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette; Watermelon Wonder; Soft Suede; Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot; Fluttering Embossing Folder; Linen Thread; Stampin’ Sponges; Dimensionals
Dimensions:
Pink Piroutte 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"
Watermelon Wonder 5-1/4” x 4”
Soft Suede 2-1/2” x 4”
Whisper White 4” x 3” & 3-7/8” x 2-7/8”
Basic Instructions:
- Emboss Watermelon Wonder layer in the Fluttering Embossing Folder and Big Shot - adhere to Pink Pirouette card base
- Ink up Hardwood background stamp with Soft Suede ink - *leave the stamp laying on your table and bring the Soft Suede layer of cardstock to the stamp - cover with a sheet of typing weight paper and rub with a flat hand* - adhere to Watermelon Wonder layer
- Re-ink Hardwood background stamp with Soft Suede ink and use the typing weight paper on the stamp to remove ink
- Now place the 3-7/8” x 2-7/8” Whisper White layer on the Hardwood stamp and repeat from * (this is called “inking off” - allowing you to create a very light image with the same color of ink
- Sponge edges of layer with Soft Suede ink
- Stamp greeting, flower, stem and leaves as shown
- Adhere to 4” x 3” Whisper White layer and wrap with Linen Thread 3-4 time - tie in a bow
- Adhere to cardfront with Dimensionals
- Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing your time with me!
